Hiking 1:54:10 [3] 6.5 mi (17:34 / mi) +758ft 15:49 / mi

Colette Pushed Me...:

To hike as fast as she does. It almost worked, but I really can't keep up with her top speed. So we compromised--she could lead most of the time, but I got a chance to lead once in a while also.

Lots of salamanders who love the moist, cool atmosphere after a heavy rain. However, no other hikers were met during our hike.

Hiking 1:25:53 [3] 4.06 mi (21:09 / mi) +515ft 18:53 / mi

Hike from Reservoir Road:

Started off feeling a bit tired, but I tried to move along at a decent pace. After a few miles, I happened to look at my average pace which was over 21-minutes per mile--much slower than I expected. OK, perhaps it's time to admit that I should take some days off?

Hiking 1:32:17 [3] 5.05 mi (18:16 / mi) +305ft 17:17 / mi

Hike at York Lake, Sandisfield:

Hike on the York Lake Loop, plus an out-and-back on dirt roads/trails to get a decent distance.

The Loop Trail was more difficult than I thought it would be--lots of rocks, roots, and wet, muddy areas. Certainly not a loop that I would do any earlier in the year than June.

Walking 37 [2] 2.0 mi (18 / mi) +10ft 18 / mi

Walk in Pittsfield while waiting for a friend:

Just killing time until my friend was done with her appointment.

Hiking 1:26:55 [3] 4.65 mi (18:42 / mi) +552ft 16:48 / mi

Kennedy Park Hike:

A rather quiet hike in Kennedy today; only met one other hiker.

Kept this short as I'm still not sleeping well and feeling lethargic.

I did wear a new pair of Adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 today; very well cushioned, good grip, and a high elastic collar to keep out debris.

Hiking 1:00:11 [3] 3.16 mi (19:03 / mi) +292ft 17:31 / mi

Short Hike at the Boulders:

It's almost pathetic to post this hike; I felt terrible from the start and thought of aborting the hike more than once.

However, if I've gone to all the work of getting outfitted and driven to the site, there was no reason not to do something.

Hiking 1:10:30 [3] 4.26 mi (16:33 / mi) +185ft 15:54 / mi

Hike toward Woods Pond and back:

I waited until the sun was low in the sky and the temperature had dropped a bit before heading out for my hike.

Alas, the deer flies were a PITA, but the shaded areas were a delight to be in as the temperature seemed five degrees less than the sunny areas.

Met two walkers and two mountain bikers.
