Hike from the Brother's parking lot:

A beautiful, cool day that couldn't be beaten. The Brothers Trail is one of my favorites, well made and quiet.

Once near Olivia's Overlook the encounters with other hikers took a big jump--at least three groups with five people, plus two individuals.

The trail leading to and over Old Baldhead mountains is another one of my favorites--a rolling mountain bike trail in excellent condition.

Hiking 1:42:26 [3] 5.15 mi (19:53 / mi) +623ft 17:51 / mi

Hike from Reservoir Road:

After a torrential downpour this morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find the trails almost completely dry. The salamanders loved the rain, as witnessed by the 110 that I spotted today.

Met one mountain biker.

This was my first trail hike with my new Garmin Forerunner 965--it's feature-rich so it will take some time to master the setting, but the AMOLED display is fantastic.

Hiking 1:54:14 [3] 6.0 mi (19:02 / mi) +394ft 17:55 / mi

Hike in Kennedy Park:

Alas, my Suunto watch is being way too generous with the mileage figure--actual distance was 6 miles. That was verified by a Garmin watch which has much better GPS accuracy.

The park was pretty empty today, I only met four people.

Hiking 43:14 [3] 2.17 mi (19:55 / mi) +50ft 19:30 / mi

Hike in downtown Pittsfield:

Waiting for a student who was having some dental work done at a walk-in clinic. The clinic opens their doors at 8am and clients start lining up outside at that time. However, no dental work starts before 9am,

Alas, the dentist took a quick look and advised that she see a specialist for her problem; he did prescribe some antibiotics, which we picked up at CVS on the way back to school.

Hiking 1:12:47 [3] 4.0 mi (18:12 / mi) +387ft 16:40 / mi

Hike in the Lee Town Forest and some surrounding trails and roads:

The little-used forest is quite nice with some old logging roads and single-track trails. Only issue is that it's a fairly small area and one has to do multiple loops to get any real mileage.

Hiking 1:34:13 [3] 5.1 mi (18:28 / mi) +581ft 16:40 / mi

Hike from Reservoir Road:

Almost chilly when I started with lots of cloud cover. But no showers, not much of a breeze, and the skies opened up more and more during the hike.

Didn't meet anyone on the trails.

Hiking 54:14 [3] 3.14 mi (17:16 / mi) +374ft 15:31 / mi

Hike in Lee Town Forest:

A short, quick hike since I'm still feeling tired all the time. I am having some bloodwork this week and I have an appointment with my doctor for another steroid shot in my left hip bursa as well.
