Orienteering race 24:06 [5] **** 3.8 km (6:21 / km)
spiked:11/14c shoes: Inov-8 X Talon

Starting 4th in the chasing start was good and Matt, James, Shep and I caught Ross after he lost time at 2. Ross and I stuffed up 3 and lost the leading 3. We where catching but then we stuffed up 9 and I lost 2 mins and lots of people past me. Fun racing though because it was so fast.

I should have stayed behind my bunch and then gone hard at the end. I will next time!

Orienteering race 1:12:56 [4] **** 11.8 km (6:11 / km) +210m 5:41 / km
spiked:19/28c shoes: Inov-8 X Talon

My running was very flat from the start which had an effect on my focus because I was having to focus on running hard. I made lots of mistakes in the control circles. Have to work on this.

Ross set a cool sprint course at Epson Campus. Thanks Ross! I was taking the running easy and reading the map heaps. It was very good value! I was doing well at looking at my map heaps and planning ahead. I still felt tired, my quads especially

Running (Trail) 35:00 [4] 6.5 km (5:23 / km) +100m 5:00 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X Talon

Ran in to Spag Soup from the end of Bradly Road with Matt. Was going pretty fast and felt good especially on the way back!
When ever I was fully in the terrain I was paying attention to how I lost speed on small rises and through bushes. Having the strength to speed through these slower patches for 5 seconds would have a big improvement to my average speed.

Orienteering 45:00 [3] **** 6.0 km (7:30 / km) +70m 7:05 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X Talon

My dad set Matt and I a course in Spaghetti Soup to test is new mapping. It was hard to read and over-mapped with too many form lines which made the shape very hard to read because it was harder to tell what was up and down. I was running easy and looking at the remapped bits a lot. Wasnt very focused on Oing...
