After panic to get to the start i made it to get told that i needed to change my bib and also had to fix my laces, was a bit stressed. Got the map and took the first control nice and handy, even if i was a bit low. Caught Baba on the route to 4, think he missed his start and started on a 30sec gap or something. Then got confused to 6, bit low on the slope and ndobbs and a few others showed up to join the search party. Stayed low to 9 and then went the north route to 12 which jumped me to the front of the train. To 14 i hit the fenced area so knew i was near but was a fence too high. Left of the big hill to 19 with a small wobble near the control. Down to 20 looking forward to some water but there was none left for us which meant the same for the later elites. Clean through the last loop where ndobbs popped back up again and from the last conrtol decided to go for the sprint. 3 way race to the line, just pipped him. Good fun but really tough day out.

Overall Results

And on the way back the road we passed the portaloo company.......with a great name!

A surprisingly good day out at the office, things just seemed to work....for the most part! Clean through the first 4 but was a bit low to 5 and overshot. Good to the start of the long leg. Decided the best route was to go out to the track to the west and then climb through the open marshes. Went well and hit the control perfectly, if a bit slow. Good loop on the hill till the "windblow" to 19. Remembered when I was in it that they had mentioned something about it in the start boxes but for some reason didnt mark the maps with it even though im sure it wasnt a day before the race job. Bit low to 26 but clean to the finish then.

Bad start. too low to 1 and then wandered a bit before finding it. Being chased by my Swede around to 4. Worked hard around the vague area 6,7,8 where we picked up roar. Then on route to 9 i panicked a bit when the guys went another route and i jumped on, then got confused. We dropped the Swede around 10,11 and i got the jump on roar up to 12 taking the better runnability route but i screwed up my exit direction. Navigated well towards 14 where i caught back up with the swede. Passed by Cillin to 18 and tried to pick the shorter routes to keep up with his footspeed, he was flying it! Was a bit confused to the last control as to why noboday was going to the tree for where the control should be!

Messed up 2, not sure the GPS shows exactly where i was, thought it was a bigger mess. Pretty ok apart from a direction error to 4. Then i hit the green and fell apart at 8.9. Good to the finish.

Clean to 1, then on route to 2 someone ran into me and i lost contact and focus. Tried to run faster to make up for it but made a huge mistake. Picked the good routes i think through the town but died on the hill at the end, not technically difficult, just tired legs. Good fun apart from the mess to 2.

Earlyish start, even though i had to go punching due to traffic. Pretty good as far as 50m from 6 where i thought i was in the next big re-rentrant over and went back, even though i was right. Bad mistake then at the end to 20, just tired i guess. Slow bashing through the bracken and the rough stuff making paths for the rest........ill get tracks later in the week though im sure!

Ram here in 2011 for Euromeeting. Few silly misses in the first half but then a big one at 18. hit the other control in the area then ran over the hill top and didnt see mine so had to loop back. Decided to run straight to 23, it was tough in that bog though. Pretty clean then again to the finish, just slow i think

A good start to my Scottish 8 days 2015. Clean race, think i maybe missed 3/5sec to 9 not crossing the crossable walls early in the route so i didnt have to double back. Then poor routechoie to 23 shouldve stayed south of the building.

Dune are was nice but i thought it would be trickier than it actually was.
