Long run down to the forest from the bridge nice few first controls.

5 was in the circle but on the wrong side of (and buried in) a bush. Stopped one bush too early but that one was mapped as an odd tree while the same type of bush was mapped as a thicket and was a bit further down the wall. Found Zacosh rummaging around for 10 which was in a pit. The control was in it......I mean right in it, in the bottom and not visible in any way unless you were in the tiny hole searching under the lip of the pit for it. Few extra pits on the slope too which werent mapped which was confusing. Depended if you saw someone finding it or not as to whether you found it easily.

Number 13 was wrong aswell, was along the beach but only half way as far as it should have been. Lost 2min30 - 3min here faffing about the place where zacosh had closed the gap and nipped ahead of me again to 14.

17 was shown as being on the 5m contour line but the control was right down at the beach. Followed this up by trying to be smart going to 19 and tried to cut through the forest............not a good idea as this slow forest was...........sloooooooooooooow, so i bailed and ran around the paths like the "track fairy" I am becoming!

Fine again till 21 which was on a thicket too early due to an unmapped one nearer to the path.

27 was another control up for debate, shown on the map as being 25ish metres away from the track when it was right next to it. Caught Tony C then on the route to 31 where he went around and I went straight.

Training kites are still as hard as ever to spot!

Nice course that Pat H had a hand in planning. Started in the forest with some tricky controls then out onto the mountain. Lots of controls below the ground level which were right down in the bottom of the pits, couldnt see the control unless you were in the hole. Then a steep climb to get up on top before dropping back into the forest and a tricky loop again in the thicker green stuff to finish off. Lonely day out, one of the late starters and didn't really see anyone on my course at all.

Won the Mens Senior by about 23mins or so I think and RDF came away with 4 medals in 4 different categories which was a bonus for the day too

Nice course and a bit of fun for the evening. Got caught in brambles coming out of the forest and lost maybe 20sec or more here beating my way through until I found a gap. Lost about 3/4 sec to the last control as well which was in the wrong place. 3min09 clear of Donal M and the pack

Nice to be able to run fast and enjoy being out as was shown by the huge numbers that showed up leaving nice elephant tracks in the long grass
