Trim AC - 6.2km Tempo.

Started off with 2 big laps of the park before training to bulk the distance a bit. Then jog to Supermacs to start. Got asked if I was a new member of the Couch 2 5km group........talk about knocking an ego! John was about so was hoping he would split the work and we could push on in the wind and rain. After ~600m I was alone by maybe 20m. 11:25 would have been a new Strava record for the segment but we were standing inside the segment area by a few metres before we stared. At the turn John was only ~150m back on the turn. Everyone was very strung out when I was on the way back. 11:09 back so got the pacing pretty well. Bit of a chat as people rolled in before they started doing static stretching in the rain after. I remembered a Donie-ism: "Have you ever seen a race horse stretch?" and was getting a bit cold so jogged with Heather and Michael back to the cars. Quick change into a thermal top, jacket and my head torch before another lap of the big park loop before heading home.

Lunch time run around the Porch Field in Trim. Ran random loops on the grass. Back then to some DB stuff and getting samples ready for dispatch to GSI.

It was always gonna be a good workout when I got 2 pointless answers in the final round of Pointless, "Members of the 2002 England World Cup Squad"....

Did a few miles around the XC lap in the park before training to bulk things up. Then there was a 2km group warm up and the marathon crew were doing 3*2km progressions. Some guy called Kieran was about (3rd in the Meath Masters XC recently) so James told me to run with him. Decided 5*2km was more useful so I worked from ~8:10 -> 6:59. He hung on for the first 3 reps and then I was alone at the end.

Theres a 10km in Longwood on Sunday morning so I might enter that and set a time in October to see where Im at currently.

Slipped out of the office for a lunch time run. Bit breezy out and lots of stuff flying about the place. Surprisingly nobody else out!
