The Trim AC gang were low on the ground tonight and were all doing an easy run ahead of the marathon over the weekend so I just jogged with them. Nice chat with Katie to pass the time finding out about her race plan etc

Longwood 10km

Based on the 17:30 range for parkruns I had hoped to go in the 35:30 region even with the wind this morning. Start was calm enough but we still clipped through the first km at a pretty solid pace. There was 4 of us then got away after about a mile and it was single file. A guy from Cavan, Crusaders and Mullingar. We were all running alone and I worked as hard as I could. Bearing in mind the SB for 5km for me is at 17:25 it was a solid start working through in 17:28. The km markers were off so some were short and some were long which made pacing it a bit tricky. The last 5km was a bit lonely with a big gap infront and a big gap behind. 17:38 through the 2nd 5km which was definitely more lumpy with some steep climbs to get up over the bridges. Ended up with a reasonable but not spectacular marker for the start of the season. Something to work on during the next few months. Ended up 3rd in the Senior Men but 4th Overall behind an M40. Solid enough mornings work. Got asked about joining Trim AC again......
