Night Run long 4:20:00 [3] 23.5 mi (11:04 / mi)

Night Run starting at Fish H into Leadville Finish. Weather very humid with fog in some areas. I learned the hard way on Turqoise Lake Trail by running too hard at night. I slammed my big toe in a rock and went down. Dont think that we will see that nail for much longer. OUCH! I can walk/run on it...though

Hill Run tempo 41:00 [4] 4.0 mi (10:15 / mi) +1225ft 7:57 / mi

Hill Run was done up Rampart Range Road. I decided to do this over the TM workout because it would simulate my run up Hagerman Road at Leadville. Weather conditions was hot and sunny. About 85 degrees...I carryed two bottles of 22 oz fluids. I didn't even come close to 8:45 mile pace . With the weather, gravel road and grade it was good training. I think I could have went faster? Though I believe the grade was more than 5% at times! I may have went on the caution side because of the heat. But, I still pushed it!

Total time of run: 1:15 for 8 miles. My system wasn't bad at the end though it wasn't perfect. It was good reminder that during Leadville in the heat to back way off on the intensity even if I am feeling great. One minute things good be going good and the next you could be a heat causulty.

medium long run 2:00:00 [3]

Ran/hiked up Barr Trail and ran down. Was 2 minutes slower to the top his week. Focused on staying relaxed, not pushing it. It was also hot. Though I was slower to the top, my downhill was effecient and relaxed to get me to the bottom at 2 hours. Last week was 2 hours 2 minutes.

Again warmed with dynamci stretches...and cooled down with stretches
Had recovery drink afterwards. Really felt good at the end. Not sure why. Maybe my long runs are usually at higher altitudes and these training runs are easier because they are lower...
