10 AM

easy run with hills long (run#1) 4:05:00 [2] 23.0 mi (10:39 / mi)

combination of flat to hilly course. Did several very short, steep hill repeats. Pushing it on the downs and alternating between power walks and runs up. Then found about 8% grade road for .25 mile, repeated that a few times.

Very tired legs at the end but nothing like the deadness a week prior (week after the 50M).

ran flats in beginning and the end on granite course. with mixture of roads.

distance wasnt as high because of hill repeat session...

easy run race (Gortex 50 miler) 12:36:25 [3] 52.92 mi (14:18 / mi) +8375ft 12:26 / mi

Got off course so I could make it longer. Ha!

Another challenging race with moving rocks and roots. The heat was also a factor.

I am not sure if I was taking enough calories in because when I got to mile 40, I was spent. I was sick of GUs. I did end up eating red potatoes with salt. unfortunately it was a lot walking and less running from mile 40 aid station (42 for me).

Despite finishing, I was ill prepared for the terrain but I am sure everyone else was too, they just had a better day then me.
