recovery run (semi long run) 2:27:24 [3] 13.0 mi (11:20 / mi) +1847ft 10:00 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:165lbs shoes: Inov

Though my weekly schedule dictated only one long run, I decided to run the Falcon Loop at a recovery pace. Saturdays run was mostly flat and needed to get a hillier run on Sunday. I feel pretty good despite the cold temps on Sunday (which encouraged a slower pace) and that I took only one 20z fluid bottle of Perteteum. At any rate, my weekly mileage and training hours is an all time high.
7 weeks until my first 50 miler out of two before Leadville.

easy run long (Run 1: 4 hour hilly run) 4:10:00 [3] 25.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +2350ft 9:11 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:165.8lbs shoes: (New)Saucony Progrid Guide TR2

ran through snowy trails through Greenland OpenSpace did a loop at Spruce Mountain then looped back to the parking lot to Palmer Lake. Headed down the Sante Fe Trail for another 1:15 to make it over 4 hours. Legs were tired but not out after the run. I think my Thursday Hill Progression workout carried over to my long run on Sat.

Treadmill Incline Run (Hill Progression) 1:16:00 [5] 8.5 mi (8:56 / mi)
ahr:162 max:172 slept:7.0 weight:164lbs shoes: (New)Saucony Progrid Guide TR2

Started the first hill climbs at 08:41 up to 7% incline. Felt I couldn't do this cycle for 1:15 so I knocked the pace down to 08:57 mile pace ascending 1% incline every .25 miles up to 7%. Stayed in control and relaxed and relish the discomfort...I figure Leadville is going to suck much worse than this so stick it out.

core/ weight (core upper and lower body) 40:00 [4]
weight:164lbs

use of swiss, medicine balls and weights. Every exercise is a stability exercise that no matter which major area I am working, my core is always activated.
5 PM

recovery run (with hills sprints at end) 1:25:00 [2] 8.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:124 weight:164lbs shoes: (New)Saucony Progrid Guide TR2

ran on TM for 1 hr 16 minutes then did a series of hill sprints on TM: All at 12% incline increasing speed each time. Top speed for 30 @ 07:30 pace. Breathing hard, but was still in control!

TM Run (Run 2) 1:30:00 [4] 11.25 mi (8:00 / mi)
ahr:157 max:164 slept:7.0 weight:166.8lbs

Ran for 1:30:00 with alternating miles of easy pace (8:13) and marathon pace (7:19). Finished with another full easy pace mile. This was a good workout. Worked my hamstrings the day prior. So I was a little fatigued in the legs doing this workout today, but not enough that prevented me from reaping the benifits of this training.
