TM run at easy pace (9:13 mile pace), every 1/2 mile, incline run up to 6% for 1:00 then back to flat until another 1/2 mile. Repeat process until finish.

This was a nice run with a easy hill challenge this week. Hence easy run week for me.

Treadmill incline walk 1:05:00 [3] 4.0 mi (16:15 / mi)
weight:165lbs

TM set 12% at 3.9 speed
5 PM

cross training (upper body) 30:00 [4]

use of swiss and medicine balls: balanced on them with different combinations. Dev balance core and upper body strength. The toughest exercise was doing a push with swiss and medicine ball at the same time. Swiss ball front and medicine ball back on feet. Felt like I was in a circus...
6 PM

recovery run 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: (New)Saucony Progrid Guide TR2

recovery run with 6 short hill sprints on TM. Last one was set to 10% incline at 5:46 mile pace for 20 sec! Was tough but didn't loose form or composer (what ever that means)

recovery run (with short hill sprint ) 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

TM run: easy run- did a series of short hill (incline) runs lasting between 20-30" My best was 5:46 mile pace at 10% incline for 30"

swiss and medicine props used for my exercises.
4 PM

Fartlek Run (run 2) 1:05:00 [4] 8.0 mi (8:07 / mi)
weight:165lbs shoes: (New)Saucony Progrid Guide TR2

Because of the weather, I decided to do my speed type workout on the tread mill. Fartlek on 2 minute paramid. This means at 30" fast 30" recovery, 1minn fast, 1 min recovery; 1.5 min fast, 1.5 min recovery; 2 min fast, 2 min recovery; then back down the same way and then start over. Continue you this pattern until the hour is up. Usually the shorter the time, the faster my speed would be. I think I averaged between 6:22-6:15 mile pace. Sometimes slower, sometimes faster...Good workout. My friend thought going to be sick at the end. hehe
