running 55:00 [2] 5.0 mi (11:00 / mi)

easy trail run. icy and muddy- just plain sloppy really. shadow mocks me while orbiting at 30 mph in canine four wheel drive. as usual pauses for him to swim.

walk for an hour in the woods with mags after

bike 45:00 [2]

Had planned to MTB but too muddy and I don't like too contribute to massive trail erosion. Opt for an easy spin on the trainer. some form drills.

week in review:

A good week but not huge. The slight reduction seems sensible after last week. Training levels in this range should continue reversing the fifteen pound winter jump.

running 26:00 [3] 3.0 mi (8:40 / mi)

a few uneventful miles in the nice weather.

running (treadmill) 1:00:00 [4] 7.0 mi (8:34 / mi)

I hate the treadmill but it's a 10 pm workout and there is too much ice outside for night running. warm-up then to pass the time i settle on progressive incline repeats on the treadmill 4x about one mile each stop to recover at HR of 160, 165, 170, 175 cool down

bike (stationary) 35:00 [3]

moderate spin

rest

rest.

Upon contemplation I think I have been moving on a solid enough base (compared to the last few years with work and school) that I ought to have some structure, or a least a record of what I am doing. I elect to try entries here as an effort to bring both. Prior to this my system in recent years has been tick marks weekly to make sure I don't build miles too fast whenever I do have time to train.

As a side note if anyone else looks at these I noticed the site from a QOC link and have gotten tremendous motivation from reading what everybody is up to. Particularly true for those who manage to get out in the cold. Thanks to all and hope I can return the favor.

running (treadmill) 30:00 [4] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

(entry from memory on 2/12) late night in the office gym two half mile intervals thrown in to pass the time the second at 2:50 without any pain. Wonder if there should be a plan here?

weights 35:00 [3]

typical circuit after skipping last week in the gym. aditional stretching 20 min

bike (stationary) 33:00 [2]

cool down easy spin

running 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

morning run in the park with dogs. still too icy on the trails to for me to really train

Monday Feb 9, 2004 #

running (treadmill) 1:05:00 [2] 7.0 mi (9:17 / mi)

(retrospective entry 2/12) easy running with some soreness in right ankle

elliptical trainer 25:00 [2]

less impact on the ankle

Sunday Feb 8, 2004 #

running 1:10:00 [2] 7.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

(retospective entry 2/12) after tweaking an ankle early at greenbelt I elect to abandon intact and log some road miles with Shadow. Difficult to judge time and distance because I stop periodically for him to swim/retrieve.
