With shadow. Some off trail but mostly on. Periodic walking breaks for me while shadow is swimming, retrieving, etc. Ran with a small pack- maybe 7 pounds. Surprised how much it increased the work on the uphills.

Week in review- Another week of base work. Really needed the couple of nice weather days mentally. Sorry that I didn't have more time to spend outside though. Weight still about 15 too high but moving in the right direction albeit slowly. We'll see how the body and motivation hold up. Probably would need to maintain current levels through May or June before any real competition level fitness arrives.

Morning ride in with DL plus some spinning while waiting for him to show up. Not on par with our summertime Friday morning hammerfests but a few sections of quick pace. This is fortunate for me as unlike dave I have not been doing any weekend group rides or riding through the snow.

Still icy in patches. Warmer than the ride home last night.

Completely disorganized on the logistics end for last two commutes. Insufficient charge for the lights, forgot to stash extra clothes in office, etc.

drive in ride home. First commutung ride in a while. Still patches of ice on the trail in places. Really easy pace.

Overslept indicating possible time for a rest day. Nothing but 1.5 hours walking in the park and throwing stuff for the dogs. Kristin's knee improving to the point where I can give up solo dog care. They were wondering if she was mad at them.

Morning- With shadow in the park. Too cold for swim breaks at 24F. I am very irritatated by the overnight reappearing ice trick. I feel like I haven't been out on the MTB in months and won't get out again unitl summer.

Weather slightly above expectation makes for a great day in the park. Never been here other than socially but its a nice map and course. After last weeks flirt with injury I run conservatively only opening up to zone 5 a few times but the results show some progress on the field.

Mileage is a rough estimate towards the weekly total not course length
