about an hour off the commute. Park run with shadow. Use the lights on the trail sections only. Legs feel like lead for the first 45 but better after that. As long as MIles cooperates I won't have any trouble sleeping tonight.

p.m. home Partly driven by the fast roadie I was pacing with and partly by the gearing. 42/53 and a corn cob looking 12x17 straight block. This is leftover from long gone levels of mileage inappropriate on the reconstituted commuter usage. After an extended hunt I find an ultra seven in the basement with a 21 and swap it out.

Note

This week marks the demise of one of the memebers of the cycling stable. After 18 years and about 20k miles I have no choice but to take the stumjumper out back and put a bullet through it. This leads to swapping stuff around in the basement and emerging with the latest commuting weapon-flat bar fendered 700c smooth tire but still a frankenbike with parts spannign 3 decades. Couple of corners cut in adapting MTB parts to the road frame but I think its safe enough.
