running 50:00 [3] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
weight:173lbs (sick)

Note

Positives for the week:
Got to 30 miles of running for only the second time in about a year.
Feeling a little better without needing to resort to antibiotics.
Weight moving in the proper direction.

Negatives for week:
Miles has a cold at this point and is waking up repeatedly. Need to get us all healthy and maintain that state.
I turn down a race invite for a March AR with a friend I really like to race with in a location that has great MTB. Fitness level is too low and I am supposed to have work trips to Boston, LA, Switzerland, SF, and Montreal between now and then with no two in the same week. Scrap next week's trip to San Diego.

after work. GEnerally feel better while I am running. Warm-up then mostly zone 3. One fast period for mile 4 at 6:07 but the right calf and left hamstring aren't amused. Close with easier cool down.

Home early. Tired from being up with miles.

running 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
(sick) (rest day)

Thinking I am feeling better I start an after work session at the office gym. Bad call. Feeling like crap my morale plumments early and I opt to cut it off after a coughing bout. Probably for the best.

Instead opt to come home and grill after K is asleep. Lamb chops with the last of the fresh rosemary from my garden and a shiraz. Tonight caps an incredible run of meals over the last week or so including grilled lobster, prime rib, fresh rockfish, grouper, filet mignon and yellowfin at a restaurant wine cellar dinner, a catered mediterranean dinner, and a decent mexican restaurant. All with large quantities of well matched wine. It'll be a minor miracle if I don't crack 180 at this rate.

On the plus side Shadow loves these 11 pm bbq sessions as it is tradition that he gets to play ball while i cook. In a nutshell this is why he is now a far better runner than I am.

Just after work at the office gym. No crowds here as appently my coworkers skipped the new years resolution that produces a big crowd at the Y. Run bike run all 145-155 after warm-up.

rest 1 [1]
(sick) (rest day)

Really tired after 48 hours of NC party and now adding a cold. Most of the day consumed by drive back and packing up Christmas.
