Hike 4:30:00 [2] 5.5 mi (49:06 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 - Mudrock

Zion -- from the Grotto up to Angel's landing. I left my group for about 15 minutes and made a good hill workout from some of the switchbacks. It was very icy through Walter's wiggles (e.g., people going up on hand and knee) and when we got to the last 0.5 to the summit, we decided to bail and continue further down the West rim. Spotted condor #52 on the way.

Hike 20:00 [1] 1.5 mi (13:20 / mi)
shoes: Patagonia trail runners

Short hike out from Rt. 89 to the Horseshoe Bend in the Colorado River.

Hike 7:30:00 [2] 10.7 mi (42:03 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 - Mudrock

Bright Angel trail -- Phantom Ranch to the South rim. Snow and ice for the last 1.5 miles. My Inov8's worked just about as well as hiking boots plus Yak tracks.

Hike 6:00:00 [2] 7.2 mi (50:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 - Mudrock

North Kaibab, from the south rim to the Phantom Ranch. Very slow, but ridiculously gorgeous hike with a large group of only somewhat athletic friends.
