8 AM

Control. pickup 1:30:00 [1] 3.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Helping Orunner with setting a few controls and getting SI units out. Easy work; nice to be moving when it's so cold.
10 AM

Orienteering 1:08:20 [4] 6.0 km (11:23 / km)
shoes: Inov8 - MudrockII

A fun red course, set by Orunner and Kacey Schweinfest at Harbin park. The park is pretty feature-rich, so navigation was pretty straightforward. I made a couple of stupid mistakes at the very end, though, perhaps because I was really quite tired. Conditions were not easy, but the course was fun.
3 PM

Control. pickup 45:00 [2] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)
shoes: Patagonia trail runners

Relatively easy control pickup at Harbin, but I did try to run some of the hills.

Trail running 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 - MudrockII

Slow, difficult conditions at HW. I figured that no one would be around, so I took my crazy dog, Cadence, and we had a pretty good time. Saw a lot of streamers along one trail, as if there might be an important meet sometime soon in the area?
