Trail Running 2:04:00 [3]
shoes: CL

Easy recovery run on rolling hills. Is that even possible? Picked up the pace in final 20 minutes.

Trail Running 5:00:00 [3]
shoes: CL

A slow run, but I kept moving. I didn't feel particularly strong on the hills, but I ran all of them, except for the one that had four fallen trees across it. My right knee was a bit stiff in the final 20 minutes, but I managed to run without any problems up to that point. I didn't bring enough food, so I spent the final three hours dreaming of a Mars bar. While I do relatively well with gels, I usually crave something that I can chew on after about two or three hours of running.

My foot felt fine this morning, but my ankle was still sore. Decided to try running with the proviso that I would back off if need be. My foot, ankle and knee held up fine on the run, so that is good. Just two more weeks and then a taper.

Note
(rest day)

Twisted my right ankle again (recurring problem) while running on the trails last night. Didn't think it was a big deal, but both my ankle and foot have been sore today. Decided to skip my run tonight and rest it for tomorrow's run. My foot feels fine tonight, but the ankle is still a bit tender. Will try it out in the morning. May just skip the night runs on the trails with the headlamp for a few weeks. It will really suck if after nearly five months of training I'm screwed for my spring races.

If the ankle and/or foot is still bothering me, I'll probably just bike in the morning instead. Or at least go 50/50.

Made an appointment at the Sports Clinic for March 30. Should probably start paying better attention to the ankle and incorporate some strengthening exercises into my schedule.

Rochelle thinks that it's all in my head and that I'm just psyching myself out.

Trail Running 45:00 [3]
shoes: CL44

The trails are firming up. Hopefully I'll get out there again tonight.

My Crosslites are tearing on the outside of both shoes already. Not sure how long these will last. I've only worn them 13 times. Good thing I've got another pair that I can work in before Seaton.

Got a little concerned about my right knee for a few minutes in the middle of the run, but it seemed fine after a short stretch and walk. Probably shouldn't sit at a desk for four hours and then rush out onto the trails without a warmup or stretch.

Appetizer.

Ran to the in-laws after work for dinner. Home late, so no extra run. Not a great start to the week.
