Road Running 2:14:00 [3]
shoes: BL Orange

A significant oil or chemical spill flowing from the Don West into the Don River. Looks horrible, and the smell is pretty bad as well. So, no trail running this evening as I didn't want to get dizzy and pass out or something worse. Fire trucks at various locations along the river. Police said that they think it might be diesel. So, this also meant no long run, as Rochelle's away with the car and I don't run long on roads any more. Not sure what this means for tomorrow's run either.

Easy road run. Two handhelds, one S-Cap and one gel. Really picked up the pace for a few minutes and loved it. Starting to feel good. Was nice to watch the sky flicker with lightening for the second half of the run.

Quick run before taking Kieran to the zoo.

Trail Running 1:42:00 [3]

After three hours of pushing a stroller at the zoo in the hot sun, I totally bonked and just wanted to nap when I got home. Skipped the long run, but put in another shorter trail run. Very hot out! Two handhelds, two S-Caps (took one before I left) and one gel.

Trail Running 4:00:00 [3]

Woke up feeling nauseous, but felt better once I got outside. Strong run from start to finish, but I didn't push myself too hard. Two handhelds (refilled both), three S-Caps and four gels.

Trail Running 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: CL

Two lamps, two handhelds, two personalities running in the woods at night. Ran very hard the second half, which may have had more to do with feeling like someone was running behind me in the dark. Need to sleep more...

Trail Running 1:01:00 [3]

Night run w headlamp. Went down hard in first five minutes. Only wore one headlamp on diffuse setting, so wasn't looking too far ahead of me. While running along a narrow bridge over the river and under rail tracks, didn't notice that a small section of the bridge was missing. My foot went in the gap, and I went down hard on my left knee and right hand. Can't believe my toe didn't break. Knee is sore, but feeling pretty lucky not to have sustained any serious injuries.

For the next few weeks, I'll carry an extra light on my night runs so that I've got some spot lighting ahead of me. Don't want to break anything this soon before Haliburton.

Road Running (Speed) 2:02:00 [3]
shoes: BL Orange

Felt strong during first 40 mins, so threw in a 20-min session of Never Ending Minutes (1 min hard, 1 min easy). Finished with an easy hour. One handheld. Very thirsty!
