Bad news: Took a left instead of a right, and added 20 minutes to my run
Good news: Felt strong all day
Took it easy and just enjoyed myself on the trails. My Wildcats were excellent and I felt confident zipping down hills and through technical terrain. Ran fairly relaxed for first 20 K, and then picked up the pace. Unfortunately, after the 20 K turnaround, I followed a group that went the wrong direction. Kinda sucks to finish after people you've been passing all day. Anyway, this was a great training run for Hali and I feel good about racing in three weeks. Ran for a few minutes with Laurie McGrath (and then chatted after) and got some good tips for Hali, particularly about dressing warmly in the night.
Kieran ran his first race today as well. Not bad for a 20-month-old kid.
