Bouldering. Got a couple problems and traversed the whole wall in both directions.

Got home feeling like a broken ass. Totally wasted. Not sure why... maybe a little fearful of the stomach flu that we were exposed to on the weekend! Glad that nothing has come up yet, pun intended.

Anyway... skipped out on anything in the evening. Have to make it up later in the week.

Snowshoes / running... setting up for Sno-Racin'!, set two checkpoints. Tricky terrain! Snowshoes / postholes are the current vehicle of choice... though studded mtb tires would rock some sections. Skis are currently useless.

It's a nice feeling having a sore calf / achillies tendon and some saddle sores! (Both training induced hurts.) Way better than a dislocated shoulder and a torn hamstring. Training the last two weeks has been great, looks like the AR team is taking shape for the year too. Legs are looking shredded! They are always pretty jacked, but never this defined... I'm pleased. I don't doubt that it's been the change in running style. Going to have to start stretching those runs out though, being able to do a 5 km is a relatively useless AR attribute.

Only four climbs today, but we picked two difficult 5.9s that we worked on (did both successfully, but not with the best aesthetics!) a difficult 5.10 overhang and a difficult 5.8 overhang.

At least 5 km. Martigan showed some signs of age, but did okay most of the time... a little bit of a fuss around the turn back spot.

Left lower calf / achillies tendon was tender. Stopped running on the forefeet and that seemed to help. Iced and advil'd when I got home. No running until the weekend!

Bouldering again. Did #8 a few times before I remembered how to do it. Then tried #12 a few times. It's tricky. Tried a few others, but nothing seriously. Did some traversing. Took it somewhat easy as I don't want to be useless at hockey tonight!

Bouldered today as I didn't have a partner. Did some traversing because I like to traverse, and tried three problems. #7, #8 and a red one in near #7 Got #8 with a nice weight transfer on my right leg. #7 seems tricky, but I'll keep at it... same with red.

Project work on "Luvin' the Alien", 5.9. Two attempts at basically doing it right as opposed to just doing it. Made it to the last move each time.

Mr. Wiggles (or something), 5.9, exciting route! Got it with one fall. Really enjoyable, must do again. Bjarni had it with a fall or two too, and we both did completely different routes.

5.8 overhang that gave me trouble last week. Smoked it perfectly.

Had Madmartigan with me, but he didn't slow me down. Old guy ran hard! 40+ km/hr winds on the way back up the hill (ran down past the park and then back up dipping into some side streets.) It was brutal. The side streets were really icy, rolled both ankles and had a two falls. Ain't no thang.

Running with forefoot strike feels great. I feel like there is more room for speed, and the control over my legs is strong. Still struggling on the levels though, downhill and uphill seem to be going well. Probably because all I really have around here is hill.

Ear felt awful. Three days of antibiotics left, really hoping it clears up before then!

"Sit on it" 5.8 - Success
Can't Remember 5.7 - Easy success... but it had a giant blue boob, I couldn't resist
"Lovin the Alien" 5.9 - Failed, mistook the crux assuming it was the move before the actual one and didn't have the jam to finish. Bjarni got it though and I can do the move to get it... tomorrow!

Got in Five climbs, all 5.8, couldn't get over the crux of the last one. Attempted twice of the five.

Try again tomorrow because I bought a month membership!

Still feel like half the damn swimming pool is in my ear, but climbing at noon did seem to bring me around. I'm trying to stay away from the decongestants as they weren't going down well on the weekend.

On my forefeet the whole time with the dog, but there was no doggie business so to speak, thus 'running' as opposed to 'dog exercise.' Some pain in the right knee seemingly from hyper-extension.

Time to start stretching out some of these runs to see how the legs hold up forefoot running at distance.

I love getting paid to workout. Did some deployment work at Survival Systems. Did a lot of diving to recover our buoys, and swimming with them to retrieve them. Swimming with a parachute, or drogue as it were, is very hard... especially when you don't know how to swim!

Interestingly, the facility we used was the same one that they used to film some of the scenes in the movie Outlander... the best movie ever about a time traveling space cop who teams up with vikings to battle an intergalactic dragon who's only mad because space cop and his buddies took over her planet. Know who was in that movie? Jesus Christ... aka Jim Cavizzelselizzle.
