Short paddle, but fun. Used the new 5 piece X Wing... it's a different feel for sure! I need to get used to it. Coach keeps asking me, "Andrew, are you sure you haven't kayaked before?"

The Woolastook 5 MTB race was started by yours truly in '06. I was glad to hand things over last year to two very capable people and even more glad to get to participate the last two years. I teamed up with Kelly Murray this year and had way more fun than going solo. I dropped my average lap time by over 15 minutes over last year and did four laps while only doing five solo. I was really happy! My first two laps were ~40 minutes, but the last two suffered the effects of two days of racing without a real meal and dropped to ~50 minutes.

Finished 7th place in teams (1st co-ed!) and 18th overall.

First section of the 'Who's Your Daddy?' adventure race. We hammered hard and did well with the maps. Brian broke his derailleur with about 15 km to go, 7 in the woods and about 8 in the road. Murray ran with the broken bike in the woods and we actually struggled to keep up! Then we pushed Murray on the bike the rest of the way.

Paddling section of 'Who's Your Daddy?'. Did some portaging, got chased by horses and saw more mosquitoes than we've ever seen before. Seriously. It was incredible.

Note

Team Trail Shop picked up the win at 'Who's Your Daddy?' We weren't to sure after the derailleur break, and then trying to go fast in Murray's canoe was a bit of a task, but we really did smoke the biking and we were true with the maps.

That's right... K1! I hammered it out too! It was a lot more fun than I remembered. The legs were still really tight, so I didn't want to do C1.
