L-Town and Seaforth with Taylor. He's newer at road riding than I am so I managed to drop him on most of the flats so I'd slow down and then hammer like hell on the hills where he didn't have much trouble keeping up with me unless I turned it on like crazy. I won't be faster than him for long so I did enjoy it a bit! Tried out some different techniques that I read about today like sitting up with weight back and spinning. Had some success. I'm anxious to try that out on my own to get a comparative time, could have just felt good because of the reprieve before the hill.

I managed to stay relatively well hydrated in the brutal heat too. Rather than take a dozen water bottles with me I drank about three litres during the day. Good call Lowery.

Fun fact of the day... the ideal roadie climber weighs 2 lbs for every inch they are tall. Ha! Apparently I'm the ideal roadie climber who ate another ideal roadie climber.

Road and tech trail run from Lake Echo to Porter's Lake / Lawrencetown. Heat was insane! Kind of lost my shit for a while.

229 lbs? It was a different scale, but I was quite dehydrated!

Not very long distance wise, but very thick whacking. Did some wading into the ocean and river walking too. The best part? I was getting paid for this! I had to recover two SLDMBs that washed up on shore in East Dover. The second half of the bushwhack also saw me carrying about 40 lbs of very awkwardly shaped ocean drifters. Ended up in some guy's back yard. It was probably a strange sight, but fortunately I think he was high so it was probably just a SNAFU for him.

Fucking ISO audit tomorrow... working late past midnight. Mowed the lawn and picked up apples earlier, glad to stay close to home with the boy just in case. He's seemingly better today. Was late to work this morning on account of the late night, so I had to work OT just to get the 9 to 5 in before I even got to this ISO business.

Unplanned rest day. Had to rush my boy to the ER because he was having a hard time breathing. He was excited about the ambulance ride, even if he wasn't getting enough air at the time! Kid is a trooper and didn't complain one bit. Tough like his dad. He only got upset when he found out he couldn't ride home in the ambulance.

No word yet on the cause of the trouble, hoping to get into the GP tomorrow.

I wish I was losing the weight as opposed to being dehydrated and not having supper. Still, nice ride on the L-Town plus Seaforth route. Tried going harder on the hills and easier on the flats, but the avg speed wasn't as strong. However, neither was I today!
