Hockey 1:00:00 [3]

3-2 win... played well, lots of shots, but couldn't bury anything!

Note
(injured)

Still really tender and ROM is less than 50% without discomfort. Yesterday was really bad, but there does seem to be a difference this morning. Hope to get some heat on it, maybe a massage if Snooch is game and then some light spinning.

No visible bruising yet, that's good I guess.

The poor dog... I'll have to get him out somehow too.

Todays improvement does give me a positive outlook. At least the hamstrings are active muscles for me... still hoping for an action packed Christmas break!

Hockey 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

I was playing goal for the SST's other team. Only six dudes showed up and we were playing the team I played for last year... had to perform! And damn if I didn't play like I was 20 again. In 40 minutes I had 50 shots, and they were solid shots, breakaways, 2-1s... it was truly unbelievable. Making those saves really made me feel young again and reminded my how much I love playing goal... and how freaking good I am.

Then it happened. All this playing like I was 20 again caught up to me. Over halfway through the second half I was rotating the right leg and sliding across to make a save. There was a pop in my mid hamstring and I felt the muscle spring up to my ass like a cut elastic band. I couldn't get up and they scored their first. I couldn't move very well and they scored a couple more.

The injury is seemingly nice and linear, and it bothers me more sitting down than standing up. It wasn't an over extension or flexion kind of thing, but a strange rotation, so I think only one muscle is effected.

Awesome.

Hockey 1:00:00 [3]
weight:242.5lbs

Played well enough, got a decent workout and a few scoring chances, just couldn't bury it though. Lost 4-3 in a shoot out. I think I got one or two assists, one for sure and I had no business getting that one. Whatev. Took the first shot in the shootout, tried to drop the puck in short side after dragging across... next time I'll try the slapper.

Running 2:12:00 [3] 16.0 km (8:15 / km)

Technical trail running... icey stuff! Some sketchy rock sections and loads of hills too. Fun race!

Hockey 1:00:00 [3]

High tempo game, ended up losing 5-4 but we were down 5-0 when I sparked the comeback bid with a one timer from the point... first one timer goal ever! I kept it cool though and acted like it ain't no thang.

I managed to go for a second game straight without getting a penalty too! I was happy about that.

Watched 24 Solo with the SST... decent ride.

Hockey 1:00:00 [3]

Played goal for the first time in about a year and did quite well! Didn't hurt myself either.

Trekking 3:13:00 [2] 15.14 km (12:45 / km)

Musquodoboit Trails with Jodelicious. Very tech, but kept the pace slow still, had a great conversation and some laughs. It seems I'm not the most stable guy on the slippery stuff.

The SST came over and we watched the DVD from the Summer Solstice in 2007... trying to sell him on it!

Hockey 1:00:00 [3]

Tripple shifted. We lost 6-1, I scored our goal.

I try and I try and I try to be a gentleman, it is after all a gentlemen's league. But when the other team starts loses their gentlemanly ways I lose my gentlemanly ways and then it's their problem. I just want to enjoy playing hard but sometimes you've just got to knock a few heads I guess.

Running 1:24:00 [3] 9.4 km (8:56 / km)
weight:237.5lbs

Good one at Crowbar Lake. Split time a bit slower in the failing light, but all around solid run considering how long it's been!
