me: Oh, I see. I apparently need dual fucking monitors so that I can see the map and race info at the same time. Jackass.

Troy: or a memory better than a fucking goldfish

me: So... what pavement are you allowing then?

Troy: if you must travel clockwise from TA2 to TA1 ....... which pave near TA2 could it be........also it states pave in Woolastook park, that should be self explanatory
i can see now that I will need to have Barney come to the start to sing the rules or some shit to you....

me: Right... pavement near TA2 is okay. I know that bit and it's unavoidable. But there isn't ANY pavement in Woolastook Park that is necessary. THAT is why I brought this all up!

Troy: the main road is pavement....I didn't want to limit any travel routes.....but don't forget I have CPs

me: Boo on the paved road! Boo! The is only a 40 m (barely)bushwhack for the next fastest route.

I was supposed to be surfing, but my board broke on my second run. Nice. Got smoked around by some huge waves, lots of fun despite the bad luck.

Did a beginner video. Not bad! I'm so wicked flexible already that I actually struggled with a few poses because I didn't have any resistance and no instructor to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

The Atlantic ocean was 22deg today... had to swim! Wife, boy and dog played along the beach while I swam. Or at least I was floating, kicking and swinging and more or less I went in the direction I intended. Then the boy and I played in the waves for a while.

Decent run. Hot as all get out... muggy too! About 138 m into the run I got that "I need a bathroom now or things are going to get ugly" feeling. Ended up walking most of the hills because I was going to barf or crap. Still, nice to get a run in!

L-Town and Seaforth with Taylor. He's newer at road riding than I am so I managed to drop him on most of the flats so I'd slow down and then hammer like hell on the hills where he didn't have much trouble keeping up with me unless I turned it on like crazy. I won't be faster than him for long so I did enjoy it a bit! Tried out some different techniques that I read about today like sitting up with weight back and spinning. Had some success. I'm anxious to try that out on my own to get a comparative time, could have just felt good because of the reprieve before the hill.

I managed to stay relatively well hydrated in the brutal heat too. Rather than take a dozen water bottles with me I drank about three litres during the day. Good call Lowery.

Fun fact of the day... the ideal roadie climber weighs 2 lbs for every inch they are tall. Ha! Apparently I'm the ideal roadie climber who ate another ideal roadie climber.

Bit of work to do tonight, and hopefully going for a solid ride tomorrow, so not a bad time to take a rest day. It's brutal hot anyway!
