Sunday Aug 8

Orienteering 1:33:00 [4]
Day5: The sprained ankle didn't feel good before the race so I put on the Mikros ankle protector and a tape. The ankle warmed up after a few controls but a blister due to the Mikros (& new shoe) hurt terribly.
Chase start: Boris G. started 20" behind me he was also limping due to a blister... I was slightly slower than him but could catch up again 3 or 4 times during the race but at the end he had more reserves and beat me by about 2'.

Day 5 Blue - Splits

Saturday Aug 7

Orienteering 45:53 [4]
Crystal Relay: We ran in a 'Family Team', my parents, Irene and myself. Everybody did well, we palced about 15th out of 40 teams.
I had a good run, easy in the beginning I started racing in the end when I could catch some other runners. Sprained my ankle (despite the Mikros) and got larger blisterts due to the Mikros/Shoe combination.

Friday Aug 6

Orienteering 1:22:16 [4]
Day4: Felt tired today, lots of small misstakes summing up towards the end (ca. 7' total). I was probably loosing my concentration due to the tiredness.

Thursday Aug 5

Orienteering 40:00 [2]
Irene and I went out to check some misstakes she did on day 3.
Running 40:00 [3]
Running the Turtle Rock Trail around the Vedauwoo rock. Great area looks like some cool climbing!
Note
We also did some bouldering on some cliffs on the day 3 map I saw during yesterdays race.
That much about rest day: 80' of running and 2h of bouldering...

Wednesday Aug 4

Orienteering 1:47:19 [4]
Day3. Good run, started slow due to the length and got caught after about 2/3 by Dan S. This gave me the extra kick to speed up a bit towards the end.

Day 3: Blue - Splits

Tuesday Aug 3

Orienteering 47:03 [4]
Day 2: Arrghhh! very good race until the 2nd to the last control where I read 2-1 insted of 14-15 (2 almost parallel controls...). When I realized, I figured that I was in a different spot than I was actually and made another misstake. total ca. 3'.

Day 2: Blue - Splits

Monday Aug 2

Bike 1:30:00 [2]
Rest day: Some easy biking with Irene

Sunday Aug 1

Orienteering 1:14:00 [3]
Day 1 of the 1000 days: Feeling tired, I probably ran to fast yesterday. With it I made a couple of mistakes.
