body feels good and ready for more.

ribs - i can still feel them the most getting in and out of bed. while running it doesn't "hurt" but can feel them some times.

clavicle - aches a bit here and there. doesn't bother me running at all. can feel when riding when I get out of the saddle... so i don't do that much.

road rash - gone.

ran way more than expected... and faster. warmed up the almost 2 miles to the track and the ruby wanted to run around the track to chase maggie and the other ladies. so stoked to have a dirt track that close. we would run, walk, and jog around the track chasing maggie.

felt good running kind of fast.

added another .25 after dropping the pup off at DDC.

good sleep but had some trouble falling asleep. my collarbone gets uncomfortable at night... but manageable. post op appt today.

legs are feeling recent load, but it's a good burn!

felt good rolling out. kept the pace easy rolling down to TP ... very mellow... recovery effort. I climbed inside and outside TP and then headed home. pretty slow going on the climbs. between my lack of fitness and going from my 14lb race machine to my cx bike with all terrain tires has working hard.... good for me though. it's still fun...

I had my first post op appt and all is well. the doc was kinda blown with my range of motion and overall body mobility... he obviously had no idea of who he was dealing with and the recovery powers that have been taught and passed down to me from the OG DCer's.

body feels good I'm getting back at it this week. basically feel like i'm starting from scratch. this should be fun.

on it early and happy to be outside. getting up early was rough... gonna take a bit to get back in the swing of things.

loop through inland encinitas & carlsbad and then back on the coast. the cx bike with hybrid tires make me work more. good for me. by the time i got to the coast (60 min mark) i was kind falling apart. i am outta shape....

right after the ride ruby and headed over to the Y. we ran from the front door all the way to back field and threw the ball around. then ran home. felt good. gonna jog later!

so stoked be back out there. i thought I would be more nervous but once i clipped in i was just smiling. riding my cx bike is super fun. some all terrain tires and still fast enough for the road.

met up with KL and rolled down to del mar and back and then to cafe ipe for some coffee. awesome sunday morning....

and "feel" clavicle when out of the saddle but not painful. kind of weird. ribs were not an issue... but we didn't go hard at all.

yes... mix of a couple different "runs"

right after ride i ran from the house to meet Maggeie and Rugy at Y for a lap. i felt suprisingly awesome. just a little twinge in the ribs. clavicle ok.

after pads game a lot of running around the fields chasing the ball with ruby. running kinda hard. again... ust a little twinge in the ribs. clavicle ok.

I was pretty active yesterday with ruby and feeling better all the time. the block is finally totally wearing off so some pain this morning but totally manageable.

much better day yesterday. pain decreased by the hour and i was pretty mobile. super fun, mellow night out with Maggie, Mer, & Ramon. then good sleep last night. progress.

no tent again. better sleep. it took a while to fall asleep. i couldn't get comfortable and my clavicle was killing me... even after taking some pain meds. yesterday was pretty rough. some pretty intense pains at times but it seem a bit better today. we'll see.

slept really well and didn't wake up once. was kind of achy going to sleep and woke up pretty sore but that's to be expected. stoked to be through the worst and just to focus on healing and eventually getting back to some training. looking forward to fun second half of 2013.

good sleep and i felt really good yesterday and was able to run around with ruby a bit. tomorrow is the day to get sliced open.

killer sleep in the tent. moved the generator to the living room and it was so much better. that thing is loud but also produces a ton of heat.

body felt pretty good most of day yesterday. i am typically really sore getting out of bed. looking forward to seeing what surgery will do for me.

trainer pyramid. i give this to a lot of people i coach good sesh when forced to ride indoors. watched a tone of music videos on youtube.

a bit of trouble falling asleep last night. just couldn't get comfortable. sore every where. clavicle and ribs just aching a lot. looking forward to surgery on monday... i just wish the could do something for my ribs.

really good sleep but getting more uncomfortable laying in bed. weird. hopefully it's part of the healing process. I still can only sleep on back... over it.

collar bone more achy the past few days. not sure if it's the increased activity of just the fact that the bone is broken.

it felt good to sweat. first time on the trainer in well over a year. kept it short. nothing crazy because i can't breathe to heavy with the ribs. some minor discomfort sitting on the bike but nothing horrible.

2 x 3-2-1 harder gearing as the intervals got shorter, 5 min ez between sets then
5 x 30 sec on/off
cool down to 40 min.

listened to the new (came out tues) Jimmy Eat World. pretty good and standard JEW.

weird. been a bit more achy the past few days. Lower back/back of ribs starts to really ache after sitting for too long and clavivle/collarbone area is aching constantly now. not sure if i tweaked it or something. can't wait for surgery and to really start healing.

i was going to ride the trainer this morning but slept in and took ruby to the Y to let her run around and play fetch. killer morning. lazy.

only taking pain meds before bed and going to try not taking them tonight. pain gets shitty at times but i can handle it.

meeting with ortho yesterday and it looks like surgery on 6/17. i would like sooner but the doc is out all week next week and this was cool and highly recommended. he offered to have one of his colleagues do it but i want a good guy cutting me open.

he said i could start running as soon as i was pain free but obviously can lift anything or do anything weight bearing for 6ish week post surgery. a bit of hope.

the limiter is going to be my ribs any way.... still f'n killing me with every movement.

also got "the tent" yesterday. i am stoked to watch Maggie prepare for leadville and see if it makes a difference.

more solid sleep and little less pain getting in and out of bed. i worked a half day in the office yesterday. sitting at my desk for too long sucks. it really starts getting to my ribs. I was up for a network maintenance last night and more this week. we are really busy at work and thats good for me... i need something to do and I'm stoked my boss and coworkers are really understanding about my injuries and broken state.

yesterday was the also the first day i got kind of pissed off and over it. one week and i'm already going stir crazy. i can't believe some people choose to sit on the couch all day... i love being outside.... but my ribs hurt with every step i take.

good sleep last night and stomach finally started "working" this morning. I probably lost 5 lbs this morning!

only one short nap yesterday.

waking up sore in new place everyday. it's all upperbody. my legs feel good. i think i'm heading back to work tomorrow and hopefully finding out about surgery.

i didn't take any naps yesterday... forced myself to stay up and cut back on the pain meds... both maybe a bad idea. went out for a beer for kurts bday and by the time i got home i was in the worst pain since i have been home. ribs were killing me.... still super sore today
