2 PM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Few laps of the Eastlands warm up
3 PM

Track race 15:32 [5] 5.0 km (3:06 / km)

Northern Track Champs 5000m - 11th

Start quite strongly (2.57 first km) but then couldn't sustain pace so eased off. Felt like hard work the whole way, quite windy and got tucked in behind a Leeds runner. We both slowed down but when I tried to push on I didn't have any more speed and I got overtaken again. Strong finish in the last 200m but was hoping for a better time than this - still, better than a 9.03 3k I guess!

Track warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Few laps of the Eastlands w/d

5 PM

Running 41:00 [3] 6.0 mi (6:50 / mi)

Green Route round Shotover. Calves looser and was running much more relaxed. Hopefully I'm turning the corner... get the exams out of the way next week and then on to Jukola and some fast times

8 AM

Running 30:00 [2] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Brasenose Woods and back through Wood Farm. Some twinges in hamstrings, calves bit better
6 PM

Track intervals 45:00 [5] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Took the watch off and ran some 300s with generous recovery - went well, feeling a lot more positive. No watch for the next week.

Running 45:00 [4] 7.25 mi (6:12 / mi)

OXSRAD + Uni Parks. Wet.

Advised to pick up the pace on the steady runs. Didn't feel too relaxed though, calves really tight and hamstrings a bit sore.

Monday Jun 7, 2010 #

6 PM

Track intervals 25:00 [5] 4.75 km (5:16 / km)

2*5*400m[60s][3m] Slow, lacking that higher gear, not feeling utterly drained anymore though which is a bonus
Did some 150s with Rach after, just about kept up. Nice to wear the new track spikes, Nike Ventulus - awesome shoe

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2] 4.5 mi (7:47 / mi)

Down to Iffley Road and back

Sunday Jun 6, 2010 #

12 PM

Running 1:05:00 [3] 9.0 mi (7:13 / mi)

"Long" steady run with Rach - feeling better illness-wise but sick as a parrot, mustn't drink cups of tea just before going out running in future.
