TT was rolling hills round a triangular patch of ground up from the pond at Blackford Hills, by the allotments. For the second time this week was tired and thought I would run badly then ran well, mostly with Andy and MickeyG. More signs of getting act together again?

Martin's Intervals. Felt pretty tired and thought I was about to repeat my usual turning up to a session too tired to run properly stunt but actually ran fine on each rep: 3'41, 3'36, 3'37, 3'34 ave. 3'37/k. Getting my act back together again I think. Also shows recent weeks intervals have helped although I've been feeling tired for most of them and haven't yet done the full session.

Nice sunny day. Still very tired from Newtonmore + Tues + Thurs so kept it slow and didn't overdo distance. Starting to lose pace and knee starting to get sore at end.

TT was 6 x (up Johnston Terrace to the top of the steps/down the steps and back up again). Was pretty useless all round. Partly due to Saturday but I'm dire at very steep slopes. Not sure how to fix this. Glute exercises in gym? Can't practically do steep slope intervals every week. I did best at this sort of thing when I was doing rowing machine intervals. Hmmm.

Left knee feels a bit swollen still.

Newtonmore 10 miles. Enjoyed the race - started off comfortably at 4'08-4'12ks but got tired and there was some 4'20-4'25ks on the way back although I overtook 2 people after the turn. 4'00 last k. 90 seconds behind Ivor who I have been beating at XC. Good to get back to some road running but I do clearly need to do some more of it...

Unable to run in the evening, did Martinesque intervals solo at lunchtime. 4'48, 4'56, 5'01, 5'00, ave. 4'56 (=3'57/km). Quite a bit slower than usual, hard to know if that was the strong wind, being a bit tired from Saturday or lack of other people to run against. Probably a mix. Still, ran well enough to be a useful session I reckon.
