Had dropped the total hours over the last few months while I concentrated on upping the amount of actual running training I do from trivial to light. But I think my achiles tendons were better with all the cross training - I was getting a bit down over the last couple of weeks as my achilles were getting worse but they feel better after yesterday's cross-country so I'll add that to the list of things that help (rather than the list of things that hinder, namely, road running, road running and road racing). I could do with shifting a bit more weight and it doesn't matter how you burn the calories... so planning to do more of these gym sessions.

Might have to psych myself up to use the treadmill (ZZzzzz....) as it's softer than the roads...

East District X-Country @ Stirling. 123/209. +30.3%. Hmmm. Had hoped for a bit faster but my excuse is that I was still tired from Thursday. Had tried to set off conservatively but it turned out to be about the right pace, or slightly too fast. Dropped off a little in the second lap and then got my act together a bit when caught by someone else from HBT - he outsprinted me just before the line but we both pulled past about 5 people.

Run from the office over Salisbury Crags, back through middle, Long Row, nether hill, down steps, back through middle. Won't be able to run after work for much longer now... getting quite dark by the end.
