Long run - started slowish (>9 min miling) then put effort in once I reached Arthur's Seat. 3 laps fairly steady. Getting really quite hard work on the last lap and way home - was trying to put effort into keeping pace up at the end.

Not sure my achilles tendons will thank me for this but this was quite a good session and reassuring I can go out and run this sort of distance not really have done much long running of late. Really better have an easy week next...

Was really quite tired after yesterday and didn't put my back into 8 x 2-3 min intervals with random kind of rest then run out to Maggie's @ Newhaven for HBT Burns' Supper.

Achilles a bit too sore today as well - must have a few easy/achilles friendly days now.

Running tempo 35:00 intensity: (15:00 @1) + (20:00 @4) 7.5 km (4:40 / km)

Tempo run on the treadmill as I thought I wasn't going to get intervals this week. 10' slow, then 15' @ 15kph speeded up to 15.5kph for last 5 so just under 20' for a 5k. The 15.5 was becoming hard work so I think that threshold pace on a treadmill is currently about that. Then 5' slow.

Strength and Conditioning 5:00 [3]

Trying to get the strength work back after a bit of a hiatus.

Stepper 15:00 [2]

Using the stepper - went what felt quite hard only to discover HR was only 138. I think that's the problem I have on hills - not strong enough to be aerobically limited.
