Running intervals 1:02:49 intensity: (32:49 @1) + (10:00 @2) + (20:00 @5) 6.92 mi (9:05 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS 17 White

Pleasant run with hill sprints on Corstoprhine Hill. Started slow and generally fatigued. About 10 or 11 sprints of different lengths. Felt really quite wasted immediately afterwards but picked up on run home and did the last couple of miles at a steady speed.

Running 1:47:21 [1] 9.79 mi (10:58 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS16 Red 2

Was going to do a long run interspersed with middle distance training AndrewD organised on Blackford Hill. Felt truly lacklustre, probably just because of the time in the morning, ran slowly, by the time I got home I was being careful crossing roads in case I fainted or something as I practically felt dizzy. I really can't run in mornings.

The O training was fun and it was nice to not be in a race and able to concentrate on the orienteering but bit of a failure from the point of view of physical training as I didn't really manage to go (anything like) hard enough or far enough for a proper session although I do feel fairly wiped out after.

Running intervals 1:16:48 intensity: (56:48 @1) + (20:00 @5) 8.24 mi (9:19 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS 17 White

HBT Training - it's summer so back to Castro Climb. Did 3 x (30", 60", 90") (I was late for first of four repeats). Weirdly I was doing best at the 30" and 90" than 60". Conclusion: need to work on anaerobic tolerance.

This has got to be good for me. I was consistently behind people I would expect to beat at cross-country - hills are definitely still a weakness. Have struggled to do 2 x intervals in a week + a long run or race in the past so this was an experiment as to whether I could get away with a light hill sprints session plus hill reps. Yes, I think. Legs were not at all fresh, and didn't feel so good, but was fresh enough to do the session properly.

Running 43:53 [1] 5.23 mi (8:23 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS16 Red 2

Was going to run on the treadmill in the gym (being careful not to overdo tarmac) but it was too lovely an evening to run indoors so ran around Inverleith Park. Lovely evening. Taking it pretty easy except maybe second lap in the park.
