Stiff from yesterday but not too bad. Hip still a bit sore but can contemplate some training now as long as it doesn't involve intervals. I think I'm now too late for planned mileage block in time to switch to speed before Alloa Half Marathon then JK. Need a new plan. Prob. forget Alloa Half and just gradually ramp up slow miles and switch back to speed when I think I've taken that far enough on.

East District X Country League @ Broxburn. Wasn't going to go due to injury but, although front of right hip sore in the morning (after stretching) I decided to go anyway and treat it as a bit of a tempo run.

Hip didn't hurt at all when I warmed up, or during the first lap, where I did go off fairly easy. So I sped up a bit on the second and third laps. Some discomfort and reckon I had better not do tarmac intervals soon but nice to be able to race again.

Something like 113th I think, results to follow.

4'15; 40'7; 4'25; 4'09; 4'11; 4'29; 4'08; 4'00; 4'20 roughly 3k/lap. So actually I didn't speed up much,

Felt like my aerobic fitness was reasonable but strength has dropped off a bit, esp. up hills.

More sore front of right hip - possibly due to lots of stretching yesterday and no ice today. Not too bad though.

Another easy 5k. Feeling better by the day. Almost not hurting walking, just a bit towards end of run. Getting there.

Getting there. A bit less sore. I think I've got a good ITB stretch now - it seems to put pressure on the injury every time I do it but longer term effect is good. Ice. Ibuprofen. Optimistic I'll be able to train properly in a week or two.

One of my exercises is single leg squats, concentrating on using inner thigh. That's probably quite a useful exercise I should really be doing for training as well as binning the injury.

Another 5k. Feeling a bit more flexible. Irritating I have managed to get the left side slightly inflamed with the stretching exercises.
