Enjoyed myself but didn't do very well at Carnethy 5. Plan was banter start through gate then not too hard up Scald Law to have some energy in reserve. Actually was really tired so the start didn't really happen - keeping something back up the first hill did help as I ran past lots of people on the top but my descending was dire. Finished 2'15 behind JamBo. I was 10" behind at the top of Carnethy Hill.
Some day I'll put the effort in to sort my hill running out. It's fun but unless I actually do some specific training I will remain quite lousy at it.

Trotter Training. HBT Valentine's day training was paarlauf around the Meadows mile loop, women in one direction, 2.5 men each in the other direction. 6 reps. Did this with two different types of squaddie, namely WHB and Tessa. Good session - took it fairly steady first three running with WHB then ran on by myself on the last three, after some banter from Dan and MichaelG about WHB and I functioning as a useful windbreak, I then followed them for the 4th and outsprinted at the end, but they got their own back on the last one after I started off flat out having been given a head start by Tessa. Would have stayed ahead of Dan I think if it had stopped where I was aiming for but MichaelG has a gear I don't have (yet...) Good hard session. Only negative is my hamstrings were both really tightening by the end. Hmmm. Actually, I could use that as an excuse for getting overtaken...

Lunchtime run on treadmill as streets slippy with snow. Feeling very easy at 5 min/k, HR just under 125 if treadmill measuring it correctly. Tired though - legs generally sore from the mileage. Should feel better in a week or two though.
