Over Corstorphine Hill then round streets. Hip OK after yesterday. Contemplated going further but tired, haven't had a run where I felt good since Tuesday 5 March and could do with feeling fresh for JK.

Finally made it to a Parkrun.... was entered for Newtonmore 10 miles but travel was looking difficult with the cold weather and stories of problems on the A9 so went to Silverknowes Parkrun instead... 9/230.

Very cold wind in the face on the way out, so tracksuit trousers, helly, hat and gloves. As always didn't feel very good running at this time of day (9.30). Would have been very disappointed with this time in an evening race in good conditions but it wasn't the evening and it wasn't good conditions...

Enjoyed it - quite a few people I knew there and indeed it is uplifting to see so many people running in an event at that time in the morning!

Splits: 3'54, 4'03, 3'45, 3'32, 3'32 + further 12"

Time/distance guessed again. Feeling a lot fresher early on but still tired by end. Hip getting better.

Feeling fresher to begin with, did some strides. Not so fresh by the end. Hip a bit better. Weight loss seems to have got stuck.

Easy lunchtime run. Time and distance guessed. Fairly tired. Hip fairly sore.

Martin's Intervals - late so only 4. Too tired - 4'45 upwards to 5'00. What with hip flaring up again, left achilles getting a bit worse and generally getting knackered I think I've overdone it (or done it properly but need some recovery now). 40 miles + intervals x 3 weeks = too much for now.

Anyway, was about to back off a bit to freshen up for the JK so will do so - one more hard session - either Newtonmore 10 mile or this next week and will otherwise take it easy.

Went to physio again - after going through everything he concluded it wasn't a specific sore muscle that was causing a problem - glute max, glute med. and TFL tight - prob related to conspicuously poor flexibility of left hip - so stretch it lots... OK. I can do that.

Treadmill run @ lunchtime (sleeting outside). Legs generally sore - not in a bad way - just still finding volume tiring.
