Great Scottish Run. 158th. 23rd 40-44. 1 second slower than last year. Actually fairly happy with that given form during intervening year. Kept a lid on the pace early on, aiming to run the first 5k in 20 mins then to pick up speed. The second 5k felt pretty hard and it was looking like an 85+ then my confidence picked up a bit realising there was only a little over 10k to go and I started pushing it a bit and overtaking. Didn't quite keep that up to the end though, 4'04/4'05 for 20th and 21st ks.
5k splits: 20'08 / 19'59 / 19'37 then 19'44 equiv. to the end.
(Suunto says: 19'30 / 19'45 / 19'37 / 19'39 and thinks I ran 21.3k - it looks like it wasn't so accurate in the city centre but was accurate in the parks. I had been thinking I was going off a bit faster than I was, which may have been a good thing).

Martin's intervals. Best intervals for a long time. 4'32, 4'28, 4'37 finishing each running alongside ColinC, then bailed to make sure I recover by Sunday. Felt pretty good. Might have managed to keep same speed for next two, was trying to do 3 at the intensity for 5.
Left achilles sore after, but not too bad. Should have worn my good-for-achilles-bad-for-knee racer-trainers instead of good-for-knee-bad-for-achilles trainers.
