3 hours easy, up river to Broxburn then ending in Balerno. Felt pretty good, and was happy to find that the easy pace I was aiming for turned out to be 5 min/k (although I have just had 2 days off so quite rested). Still able to run same speed at the end but struggling to go uphill. Tried eating something sweet every 15 mins from 45 mins onwards. A mars bar in 5 parts then sports beans. Might well have helped. Knee coped, although stiff after. Hoping this is the highest weight I record for a long time.

Had arranged to meet Stu for a Xmas morning run but got Stu'ed up (he ran early due to the whole having children thing), finding myself in my running kit at the ridiculous time of 9.30am went for a run at that time anyway. Felt weak, slow and generally useless, typical failed attempt at running in the morning. Knee OK again.

Could only do tired plodding so bailed on planned hour plus run. First time this has happened for a while and I'm trying to avoid this being a regular occurrence. Might have been due to eating less but I think it was just too many rolling km on the clock. Knee fine though.

Evening 15k easy, round AS and the Meadows. Feeling fitter. Knee fine for first half and not too bad for second half. Getting there. 102km rolling.

An hour on the mill in the gym. Zzzzz.... Knee feeling good after yesterday but started hurting a bit near the end. Felt a bit faint after 20 mins but recovered after another 10-15. Probably my body getting back into diet mode given I'm 5kg over my minimum from a few months ago and really need to stamp that out fast.
