Sore back, bailed on XC.

Running race 20:24 [5] 4.6 km (4:26 / km) +94m 4:01 / km
weight:78kg shoes: Mudclaw 265 (Red)

Braids XC, short race. Tired and sore from the get go, I failed to keep up with JJ (or Briony or SO'N or AndyS) and although I kept it together-ish for a bit I slowed from 2/3 of the way round. Then I heard JonR and Ivor being cheered just behind me and it turned into an ageing men's race to the line, which JonR just won, with Ivor a little behind.

One positive though - my Strava split to top of Braid Hill was faster than in 2013 despite being tired. The whole strength thing does seem to be working although I was fairly tired and useless today.

Running race 50:00 [5] 9.2 km (5:26 / km) +205m 4:53 / km
weight:78kg shoes: Mudclaw 265 (Red)

Due to HBT fantasy XC league, ran the long race too. Now super-tired I jogged along near the back, gradually got my act together and overtook a few people (Mark, Brian etc) going up Braid Hill for the first time, lost it on the second lap and went backwards again and eventually pulled my act together for last 400m when getting caught up by BrandNewMe who inexplicably was also running atypically slowly.

Only available positive is that I think this wasn't quite as dire as Gorebridge two weeks ago. The sensible thing to do now would be to rest but I see it's a Borders XC tomorrow.

Running 1:02:00 intensity: (32:00 @1) + (30:00 @4) 12.0 km (5:10 / km) +400m 4:26 / km
weight:78kg shoes: GT1000 Blue/white no.1

TT was hill reps on Johnston Terrace. JamRo plus one Newbie trashed their ankles in potholes. 6 X 30",60",90". Traditional JT rain shower part way. Didn't feel too bad considering. Not quite flat out.

Running 30:50 [1] 5.5 km (5:36 / km) +60m 5:19 / km
weight:78.8kg shoes: GT1000 Blue/white no.1

Easy lap of inverleith park. Still very tired, knee definitely on the mend. Hopefully that is due to a fundamental improvement and not just a week away from sitting at my desk.

Running 22:14 [1] 3.81 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: GT1000 Blue/white no.1

Easy recovery run, sore legs.
