5k row, achilles fairly stiff. Was pretty tired and slow at this today, I guess the orienteering worked similar muscles.

First time I have been orienteering in Sweden. Took commuter boat from central Stockholm to Frosvik... boat stops at the end of a path into the forest... Entered a black middle distance course, 4.5k. 32/51. Winner was about 30 mins. Much fun. Most of the other middle aged men on the course were running a good deal better on the terrain than I was and I only made the top 20 splits once. Results show a 1 min mistake (tried to do rough compass, failed, resolved to revert to bearing following), a 3 min mistake at 10 (cut in too soon on a path while running with someone else - they probably went a bit further and got it right...) and a couple of minutes later. Lots of hesitations, plus lots of pulling up a bit early. Lovely sunny day. Results

Evening run on tarmac after being late at work. Felt really good - pity about the sore achilles on every stride. Need to change shoes.
