115 min / 11 laps of Inverleith Park for Sunday run. On the one hand it's not very exciting to orbit the park on the other hand I seem a lot less injury prone on grass than tarmac. Felt quite good for my long run for once and v. comfortable to begin with, gradually speeding up by about 20 seconds a lap. Hadn't intended to go quite so far but pushed on as things were going well.

I was a bit worried about my left knee, which was sore walking on Friday evening, after Thursday tarmac intervals, but it seemed to cope fine after a lot of stretching over the last couple of days. Ran without orthotics again.

HR drifted up from ave 122 first two laps to 137 last two laps, speed 11.6km/h to 11.9.

Really v. tired, easy recovery run. Rolling 46 miles. Will take tomorrow easy to avoid overdoing things.

TT was just what I needed this week, 5 x 5 mins (3 min recovery) around Regent Terrace, although there was a hill at one stage which didn't help. Felt good and going well on the flat, poor on the hill.

Followed by pub crawl due to drinking challenge. Less useful from a running training perspective, but fun.

New shoes, for intervals only for first 50 miles.

Dumyat hill race on a dreich evening - well it got a bit wet on the way up and really very wet on the way down. Good fun, haven't done this race before and I can see why it's popular. Felt fairly strong going up, then descended pretty badly, losing at least 20 places. Not sure where the decent descending of a couple of years ago has gone, although doing single legged squats less frequently is probably a factor. HR ave 151 up, 144 down.

Sunny evening so went to MPC Monday which was for whatever reason a time trial around AS. Was last of the 6 who turned up as fairly knackered. Home via kilderkin.
