BOC Relay @ Torphantrick, 3rd on Short Open. CraigN came back 11th, me 7th, AndrewL 3rd. Afterwards it became clear there was a big length difference in gaffles, one lap was 3-4 minutes shorter - Craig and I were on the relatively long gaffles (4.4k) whereas Andrew had the short one (3.8k) so we were doing better after legs 1 and 2 than it appeared. Fun race, running quite well once I got going. Only significant error was route choice error at 4, I didn't spot the path along the fence and I think I lost 45" or so. Results

BOC, at Balmoral which was showed no real sign of the royal wedding mania down south. 7th on M45L (+27% to AndyS, +11% to 3rd). Lovely sunny day, downing a bottle of Lucozade sport before starting turned out to have been a good plan. Enjoyed it more than I expected, helped by the course having not too much climb. Lots of errors, seemed to take me a while to get to 1 (around the path), 90" at 3, 90" at 4 (like many others I pulled up too soon), 3' at 8 - went left and it wasn't a bad plan but accidentally dropped all the way down to the start triangle path and ran along to the path junction N of the control before heading up, 80" at 12. TT on another sunny evening, was the 30/60/90/120 peloton session up Castro and I was knackered. Useful to get some hill sprints in though, warm down via I pubs. Rest tomorrow.

Due to HBT drinking challenge, had pints in Holyrood 9A and Half Way House (Richard got the last pint of the one finishing with H though).

Meadows 2 mile race, pretty tired with rolling 45 miles on the clock and day after intervals. Another HR not getting above mid 150s-a-thon. Probably shouldn't have gone but it was sunny. Nice to get a tempo run, I'll try to do better another week.
