Seven hills race. Fun as always. Had quite a good year - my second best in recent times - which hopefully suggests training is working. I was careful not to go off too fast and it paid off at the end when I managed to keep running fairly well. Went left off the esplanade (they had punches both at the top of the steps and at the gate to the Princes St gardens so no need to double back). People who went through the gate were surprised to find some closed gates lower down and they all seemed to lose a minute at least.

Set off to TT, left knee had some sharp shooting pains, so walked for a bit, jogged to IP where the session was to be and gradually warmed up. Session was a fairly paltry 12 x 150m ish sprint across a football pitch (it being the first day of the World Cup) which was actually the sort of session I need to do. Then we played football for half an hour, not sure how long it will take me to recover from that! Right, need to rest up and hope I have my act together for Sunday...
