Edinburgh to North Berwick Race... the race has had a gap of about 5 years and I've only done it once before. in 2'16 in 2014. Having not run more than 14 miles recently I went for a run/walk strategy... which seemed to work. I ran off at about 4'48 pace then walked for 2 mins at the 5 mile drink point, about 1' rest going to the toilet/short walk a couple of miles later. Had been going to do another 2 min walk at 10 miles but that was in the middle of the section on road so I kept going until the pavement restarted and walked for 3 mins. Shortly that my left knee started to play up... possibly all the running on slightly cambered road surfaces, my left leg form had definitely gone. Three more short bits of running (on uphill sections!) then my knee sort of settled and I had quite a lot of running left in me for the last 4k of so and I overtook quite a few people. I did enjoy this, so what if 30 mins slower than last time, it feels good to have managed 20 miles point to point.
