Running (Easy run) 1:03:00 [1] 8.1 mi (7:47 / mi)

Easy run from my house with Annie - did usual flat loop from my house. Felt relaxed and good, but sluggish. Oh well! Perhaps it was the cold!

Biking (Easy spin) 50:00 [1] 15.0 mi (3:20 / mi)

Easy spin on the bike to work the legs out after work...felt good...but took it easy. Again, did pickups on the commercials to save my sanity!

Did weights at gym - did abs, back, arms, and legs. Added step-ups to the routine.

Easy run on Earl's Trails - from Notch, ran down 'fun trail' and then across 'new trail' and back to car. Ran out of daylight, so had to cut the run a bit short.

I have no idea the distance - did orienteering with Brian (1:25) - tried to stay moving for the entire time. Then, hiked up Bare Mountain, then ran a few miles on Earl's Trails. Felt good, relaxed.

Super easy run behind house - to big hill and back. Felt like being lazy! :)

Easy run around Earl's Trails loop - from Chumura Road. Felt good, relaxed. Leaves were slippery and slowed us a bit on the downhills.

Lifted for arms, back, legs, and plenty of abs. Added step-ups to routine cause Brian was doing them.

Running race (Road race) 50:00 [4] 7.0 mi (7:09 / mi)

Did Feaster Five - warmed up for ~1.5-2 miles easy, then did 5 mile race (in 31:49, a new PR!). Cool down was walking around and back to my car - unfortunately it was super crowded at the finish! Felt really good in the race - cramped a bit, but clearly able to hold a great pace.

Easy spin on the bike. Kept myself occupied by doing pickups during the commercials. Followed the spin with plenty of abs and some bridges (hammies!).

Easy run behind house - went to neighborhood and did some longer striders. With Brian sick, I didn't stay out too long on my run, wanted to get back to him.

Ran at Ashley Reservoir - was super slick with the leaves, so I went pretty slow. Was glad to at least get in some mileage.

Easy run w/ Brian behind the house. Ran to Rt. 202 and back...got dark during the run, so footing was very sketchy and we slowed a bit with that. :)

Again, don't know the exact distance - but Brian and I went to Pisgah to run some of the course. I felt so tired and sluggish that I called it an earlier day than we were expecting. Oh well.

Easy run at Mt. Tom for Movember 10k. Ran course, super easy, then went back to get Jen and Jen and run them in. Felt good - was especially pleased that my quad didn't bother me with the leaves and the ups/downs.

No idea the actual time, but I think it was about an hour. Either way, super easy run w/ Abby and Meg from Old Holyoke Road to the Holyoke Res and back. It got dark and we had to 'adventure' on the way back around the puddles which kept the tempo fairly easy. Fun low key run! I was glad that my quad didn't really bother me - I could feel it, but it was nothing more than a sore muscle type pain.

No idea the actual time, but it felt slower than normal. I decided I couldn't sit around forever (and taking 2 days off is about my limit!) so I did my weekly easy run w/ Kim in Noho. The quad is still bothering me a bit so we did the flat loop that I figured wouldn't hurt it too much. It felt mostly ok, but Kim commented that I looked like I was limping a bit by the end of the run. We'll see...

Hiked w/ Brian behind the house - to 4-way and back. Legs felt much better after moving them a bit, but I think I reinjured the quad muscle on the last steep hill down to the house. Nice afternoon.

Running (Ultra Race) 8:01:00 [4] 50.2 mi (9:35 / mi)

Last 50 mile race of the season - Stone Cat 50. It felt horrible! My pace wasn't good from the start, I still felt super stiff, I pulled a quad muscle about halfway through, I bruised my knees falling so many times...it was a rough day out there! I'm completely bummed that I ran slower than last year. My lap splits were: 1:49, 3:46, 5:50, 8:01. Blah, not the way I wanted to end the season. But, to keep it in perspective, Matt re-broke his foot attempting his first 50-miler, so I have to be greatful that after a bit of rest/rehab I'm still healthy.

Day off - using Brian's technique, taking the 2 days off before a 50-miler. It's the end of the season, so I don't have the motivation anyway...did house projects instead.

Easy run in Noho w/ Kim and Kathy. Ran up Rt. 9 to Look Park and down through bike path. Felt good, much better than I have in a while.

Running (Tempo run) 56:45 [3] 8.1 mi (7:00 / mi)

Ran w/ Annie - did loop from house to stop sign, and back behind Buck Pond. Did easy pace until the turn (first 4.15 mi, 30 min) and tempo on the way back (3.95 mi, 26:45). Was surprised at the tempo - my goal was 6:45s, but I felt like I was really struggling to move and figured the pace was super slow. I was right on target.
