Trail run w/ Jason around Earl's Trails. Body is starting to feel a bit tired, but good to get out.

Liz and I lead the 'NRC group run' tonight. We got in about 4 miles on our own, then did 7 miles with the group. It was good, relaxed pace. My body is a bit achy, might be time for a day off.

Run w/ Molly, Erik, and Chris at Mt. Toby - Erik showed us a new route up the mountain and back down...great run! My hammies are still a bit sore/tight, and my mind is still reeling with the sad news...

Trail run with Frank R. at the Hendrick Street trails. So much fun! Great to see Frank - even with him being 'out of shape', he's just about my pace now. My hammies are just a hair tight from yesterday...but otherwise things feel good.

Trail run w/ Brad at Earl's Trails. With the news I heard earlier today of the sudden passing of a fellow ultrarunner and friend, I needed to get out and work through my emotions a bit. Honestly, I don't remember how I felt during the run, it's a bit of a haze. But, I'm glad to have gotten out on the trails, and grateful for Brad's company on a rough day.

First XC race of the season. I warmed up just over 3 miles (the course plus a little bit), then we lined up. Ran well, but after the 2nd mile split I hoped I could crack 20-minutes...but got 20:09. Bummer!!! Cooled down around the course again.

Grossest run ever! Ok, maybe not...but it was so humid it was just nasty! We (Chris K., Molly, Erik and I) ran at 6am, and still were dripping immediately. We ran from the back of Sugarloaf, and did an out-and-back on the Ridge Trail, then did a lap of the mountain bike trails to make the full 2 hours. I wanted to run more, but without company (and in that weather), I went home instead. :)

Ran around Sugarloaf - ran w/ Brian for the first section, then was joined by Molly, Eric and Howie. Howie continues to be a bad luck charm...as I fell and banged up my knee towards the end of the run. But, otherwise it was a good run.

Easy trail run at the Notch with Jason - snuck in ~3 miles before Jason and I ran 'the loop' around the trails. Did most of the run by headlamp - bummer! But, felt good to be running again - after so many travel/logistical/non-training days! Gotta get back into training mode.

Easy spin...woke up at around 4am (still on Europe time), so I opted to work out. Turns out I was exhausted and it was 1000% humid by the end of the day - so good thing I at least spun in the morning.
