Last day to stretch the legs out - ran with Sara. Warmed up 2.3 miles, then did 2 x up/down Sugarloaf - trying to run strong on the way up and relaxed/fast on the way down. Ran 9:58/6:26 and 9:05/6:38 (with a slight dog jumping on us related slow down at one point). Cooled down on the trails another 1.2 miles.

Easy run with Brian - ran to Sugarloaf, up the steep way, around the trails, and back down. Legs were tired to begin with (glutes especially sore), but felt better towards the end of the run. Was happy that Brian had to tell me to slow down at one point...that NEVER happens. :)

Warmed up about 1.7 miles easy with the team before the race...was sweating already! Then, Mt. Washington race - felt ok for the first few miles, then struggled a bit and by mile 4 I knew I didn't have it. I walked for most of the 2nd half to finish in 1:35. (Bummer!) Took a while to get the team motivated to run down, so I ended up pushing the pace a bit on the downhill so that we could beat the cars (0:55 downward run!). Beat the first car by about 30 seconds. Phew!

Was supposed to be 4 miles easy with 6 x 30-sec. uphill surges. But, I got out of work late and had limited time to get the run done - so I maybe rushed the run a bit. Ran at Amethyst in the heat (was dripping!), and got my surges in...rough day.

Ran hills with Aaron. Warmed up 2 miles easy (but Aaron was pushing the pace, so it wasn't actually easy!). Then did 3 x mod/hard up Sugarloaf, hammer down Sugarloaf (0.85 mi, 500' climb): 8:31/4:45, 8:22/4:41, 8:20/4:40. Cooled down 2 miles easy.

Ran with Chris and Molly at the Ridge. Ran to ski slope (adding in new side trail!), then did 6 x 1 minute uphill surges - legs felt like death on the first one, but I was able to go a bit farther on each interval and even felt a bit better for each one. Ran back via ridge to finish run.

Easy run with Abby and Molly - from Abby's house to Whiting, around and back...then had to run to the end of her street cause I was OCD and we were at 5.9. :)

Felt meh at the start, but better after a few miles.

Ran with Caroline, Ruthie, and Jessica - started at Ruthie's house, and warmed up to mile 3 of Jones. Then, did 4 x repeats up the mile 3 hill (about 0.4 miles each repeat). Didn't sprint up, just tried to stay strong and keep good form. Cooled down back to Ruthie's house.

Felt pretty tired!

Easy trail run with Molly, checking out some of the Ridge Road trails. Felt tired at the beginning, but the legs loosened up as we went along.

Running (Hill workout) 1:40:00 [3] 9.7 mi (10:19 / mi)

The dreaded B51 workout with Abby. Legs felt dead, but we did it! Warmed up long way around Whiting, then did 3 x B17 at a strong but maintainable pace (11:57, 11:52, 11:59). Cooled down short way around Whiting. This hurt...but I felt better in the 3rd one than I did in the 1st one.

Cayuga Trails 50. Legs felt pretty dead even in the early miles...so I just did what I could do. Splits were: 2:05 to 1st turn, 4:25 at halfway, 7:15? at 3rd turn. Got hot and tired, and lazy...but glad to get it done.
