Running (Easy run) 1:18:00 [1] 10.0 mi (7:48 / mi)

Easy 10 miler with Abby around Holyoke - from her house, through HCC, to Whiting, out far entrance and through nice neighborhoods (up Mt. Everest!!!) and back to her house. The run flew by, and felt easy...nice to have a 10-miler fly by!

Easy run w/ Chris, Ross, Brian and Ashley at Mt. Tom. Did 'light blue' trail from up hill of parking lot, then took teabag, and then extension trail back to cars. Great run, felt great but hills were rough (haven't done many hills recently). Ran easy with Ashley - didn't feel like being dropped by the boys today.

Easy run w/ Kim - both of us were feeling 'sluggish' because of running in the snow, and from a week of slipping around! But, it was a good run - typical Wednesday morning run in Noho.

Easy run w/ Jeff Hanson - did large loop around Amherst and Hadley. Felt good to run with him, altho the route had almost no sidewalk, so we were running in the slush a ton! :)

Easy run w/ Annie - felt a bit harder, but I think Annie was pushing the pace to make up for the snow/slippery roads that were slowing us down. It was fun, even if at times we felt we weren't going anywhere.

Again, no idea the distance (assume equivalent to 8.5 miles if road running, but on the trails, it was more like 7 maybe?) - ran w/ Brian at the Notch. Went down the 'fun trail' and back up the 'new trail', but in the snow ended up at the bottom of the hill instead of at the bunker. We ran out to the roads and up 116 to get back to the cars. The snow was about 6" of fresh powder, so we slipped and slid around the trails - my road shoes (which is all I had with me!) didn't work so well on the trails in snow! :)

Lifted at gym - no one was in my way, so I was able to work through the circuits pretty quick. :)

Easy run behind house - to Pike and back. Between leaves and frost heaves, the trails were rough...but felt mostly good. I could feel the long uphills, so I need to work on that (man, I felt weak, but I guess I haven't done any steep, long uphills in a while).

Easy run behind house - went towards Mt. Tom, until about gun club crossing (just before downhill to GC). Felt good - awkward on rocky trails! :)

Easy run w/ Kim - did the Noho loop. Both of us were 'worked up' - she has some issues going on at work, but I am excited/anxious about potential house stuff...so we felt like we were going easy, but the pace was pretty quick. Felt great! :)

Lifting at the gym. Again, kept up the weight to try to go harder.

Super easy run - from Smith College to Look Park and back - traditional run with the lights! Felt great, but pace was slowed a bit for the group. The lights were amazing - felt super Christmas-y.

Easy run w/ Annie - did plenty of hills, and I could feel my tight hamstrings from Saturday's run. But, felt good to stretch it out and do longer runs back to back. Ran from Annie's house and up to Southwick and back.

Long run @ Forest Park - did some of the FA50k - 7 laps. Felt great, relaxed, and was pleased to keep up an easy 8 minute pace. Great time! :)

Lifting at the gym. Accidently missed one or two things, the gym was so busy that my routine was all thrown off. But, tried to increase the weights by a few to crank it up. :)

Easy run at Earl's Trails - did full loop. Felt a bit sluggish since I lifted right before my run, but oh well. Trails are starting to get slippery/icy.

Easy run w/ Annie - we were a bit slow since the roads are icy/snowy in patches, but oh well. Felt good to crank out over 10 miles before work. My upper hammies are a bit tight - guessing the cold weather isn't helping any.

Back in the saddle again after my weekend away. Still don't feel 100% but just can't justify any more time off from working out! Lifted this morning - tried to add a bit of weight since I haven't been in the gym for over a week!

Easy run w/ some girls from the coaching clinic I'm attending - we snuck in a quick run over the lunch break. I am still coughing and feeling like crap...so I didn't push any other mileage.

Easy spin on the bike - just wanted to get in something before I drove to Maine for the weekend and sat in on 8 hours of classes...long day. My body is also super worn from this cold, so I didn't push it.

Note

No workout - feeling crappy with the cold, but also dealing with house stuff. I'll be happy when the house is on the market, and things are moving forward - for now, there is plenty of stress with making the house look nice, finishing projects, and throwing stuff away.

No idea on the distance - did trail run w/ Eric at Earl's Trails from the Notch. Did fun trail on the way down, and new trail back up. Felt good, I have the beginnings of a cold but otherwise things are doing well.

Running (Road race) 59:00 [4] 8.4 mi (7:01 / mi)

Ran the Hot Chocolate Run 5k - did 5k warmup (~25 minutes) then did race (19:19, a new PR!), and then ran 2 miles cool down. Felt great during the run, really didn't like the hill just after mile 2, but oh well. First two miles are net downhill, so splits were fast (6:03, 6:10) - but beating my college PR was awesome, so I just don't care. :) Think the course may have been long - bummer I can't see what my real 5k PR would be!!!

Day off. My dad and I did house projects, which inevitably took much longer than expected, so I never got to workout, and I was exhausted by the end of the day. Oh well! At least the master bathroom shower is operational again! :)

Lifted - did minimal abs, but plenty of back, legs, and upper body. Can feel fatigue of doing this now 3 times this week...but it's good! :)

Easy run w/ Erik on Earl's Trails - did the regular loop. Felt good, relaxed! :) It got a bit dark towards the end of the run, but we survived.

Easy run w/ Annie from her house. Did rolling 8 mile loop with out and back on Loomis to add 2ish miles. Felt good.

Running (Intervals) 50:00 [4] 6.6 mi (7:35 / mi)

Ran @ Mt. Holyoke College w/ Abby - did 2.3 mile warmup around campus. Then, on pond loop, did 6 x 1/4 mile on (~1:30 for each), 1/4 mile off. Cool down 1.3 mile around campus. Felt good, relaxed, but wished I could have run faster!
