Note

No workout - traveling home (dropped off at the airport at 6am, arrived home, sick, at 7pm).

Running (Pacing) 4:00:00 [1] 20.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

Easy pacing duties. Surprisingly, my runner ran almost the entire way, but his shuffle wasn't that fast, so my running gait was off during this run.

Note

No workout - my luggage didn't arrive to Texas until 9pm, but I was there all day!

Running (Tempo run) 1:00:00 [3] 7.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

So, started this workout on the TM, did 15 minutes warmup and 10 minutes at 4% grade, but couldn't focus on finishing the workout (and it was so beautiful outside) so I went outside where I could string together a 10-minute uphill that I did a tempo interval up. Ended up doing about 1 hour total between the indoors and outdoors. Felt good and strong on uphill (but tired over the last 'hump'). Will have to use this 10-minute hill for repeats in the future.

Weights 30:00 [0]

Lifted - and since my soreness is finally coming down, was able to lift hard for most exercises. Will feel it tomorrow! :)

Running (Track intervals) 1:05:00 [3] 9.0 mi (7:13 / mi)

Did indoor track workout with Kim. Warmup 15 minutes, then did 6 x 800s. Aiming for 3:05s, did 3:04, 3:02, 3:03, 3:03, 3:04, 3:04. Recovery of 400s between each. Felt good and relaxed, not pushing it too hard. My abductor on my right leg was pretty tender by the last two intervals. Did 15 minutes cool down. Glad I was able to push Kim through the workout.

Running (Easy Run) 45:00 [1] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Easy run w/ Matt at Mt. Norwottuck - ran up and over, and back on orange trail. Felt slightly sluggish to start, and slipped on the icy ground, but in general felt great. Ran up the entire mountain (first time ever!) - continuous 20 minutes of uphill.

Weights 30:00 [0]

Went light on some of the lifting - depending on how sore the muscles still were from this past weekend.

Running (Tempo Intervals) 1:10:00 [3] 9.5 mi (7:22 / mi)

I impressed myself - I went into the workout on extremely sore legs, thinking that I would do the first interval, and if it wasn't below 6:50 then it wasn't worth it to do the workout at all. It went amazingly well, even on sore legs. Did 2 mile warmup (about 16 minutes). Then, did 6 x 1 mile repeats (trying for 6:40, but going on feel of 'easily hard' where my breathing was regular but I was pushing it). Mile splits were: 6:30, 6:50, 6:35, 6:20, 6:45, 6:45. Two minutes recovery (jog) between each. The second one was hard, and the 5th and 6th both had some ice sections where I had to check my speed and watch the footing. In general, I felt really good about this workout, especially considering the condition of the legs. Glad to have that one over.
