Running race (Ultra Race) 4:20:00 [4] 31.0 mi (8:23 / mi)

Green Lakes 50k. Felt great - 4 laps around rolling course, heat got to me in the later laps, but did 1:01 (~7:55/mile), 1:02 (~8:00/mile), 1:07 (8:39/mile) and 1:09 (8:54/mile) for my laps. Felt strong, aggressive for first few laps, then settled into my comfy pace for the last two laps. Dropped the hammer and finished off with 2 miles @ 7:00/mile pace which felt great.

Note

Took the day off. Had Green Lakes 50k the next day, and the calf was still super tight. Rested, foam rolled, and self-massaged the calf.

No idea on distance - ran @ Mt. Tom w/ Nick, Brian, Chris and Amanda. Cut my run a bit short due to super tight/painful right calf, but otherwise felt great.

Running (Tempo) 1:21:00 [3] 10.6 mi (7:38 / mi)

Tempo run w/ Kim and Laura in Noho. Did ~4 mile warmup to Look Park, then did 6 x 4 min on, 1 min off at tempo (guessing 6:30-6:45) pace. Intervals were done during two loops of Look Park then down the bike path. Cooldown the rest of the way down the bike path. Felt a bit sluggish, but am hoping that it was only because Kim and Laura were kicking my butt! Right calf still super tight.

Easy run w/ Abby and Kim in Northampton - loop from Kim's house up Rt. 9 to Look Park and back on bike path. Felt good but right calf and left hammy tight.

Running (Easy run) 1:20:00 [1] 7.0 mi (11:26 / mi)

Super easy run w/ Nick and Chris - did loop at Mt. Tom. We were so relaxed, we walked the long uphills.

Tuesday Aug 24, 2010 #

Running (Track workout) 1:20:00 [4] 10.5 mi (7:37 / mi)

Track workout with Abby - from her house to Holyoke Track, then 8x800s @ ~3:15 w/ 400 recovery. Cool down to her house. Felt ok, but had to push hard for the last few intervals. Calf tightened up in last few intervals.
