Note

Day off - slept basically the entire day - I was awake for no more than 2 hours at a time. Figured if I was that sick and tired, that it was best to just go with it. Hopefully I knock it out of my system fast!

Running (easy run) 1:20:00 [1] 8.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Easy run behind the house - ran mostly down to 202, then ran to Tower #1 and back w/ Brian. Felt a bit sluggish (I'm sick!), but it was amazing to be out on the trails again. I forgot how to run the trails...so it was entertaining - but I didn't fall!

Biking (Easy bike ride) 1:00:00 [1] 12.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Easy bike ride - rode from my house to the start of the Holyoke 10k (to cheer folks on), and then back to my house after the race. Great weather for biking!

Day off - meant to cross train, and it was amazing weather...but I'm starting to come down with a cold and after a long and stressful week I just went home and went to bed early.

Running (easy run) 1:06:00 [1] 8.7 mi (7:35 / mi)

Easy run w/ Annie - did hilly route by my house. Felt good, but could feel the slight fatigue from the last mile repeat yesterday. Annie was a bit rushed (she got to my house late, and so she was in a panic running), so I kept trying to hold her back and calm her down...but apparently the pace was still a bit elevated.

Easy run w/ Kim and Nicole through Noho and Hadley - took bike path from Smith College over the river into Hadley, then ran on dike next to river and back to the bike path. Great run, legs felt a bit stiff, but otherwise fine.

Running (Intervals) 53:00 [4] 7.8 mi (6:48 / mi)

Interval workout at Holyoke Res. w/ Nick and Amanda. Goal of the workout was: 2 x 2 mile @ 6:10s, 1 x 1 mile @ 6:00 (or faster). I was so excited to run at the res. - it's great rolling dirt/gravel with no cars! Everything was wet and a bit sloppy/soft, but oh well! Warmed up ~1.5 miles (12 min). First interval went well - hit my interim splits along the way, and finished in 12:20. Felt good but hard. Second interval, I had focusing issues and don't think I pushed it in the beginning, then I was behind at my interim splits and I finished in 12:35. I was frustrated, but oh well. The last interval, I was anxious that my pace had just fallen off, so I had Nick start ahead of me so I could track him down...and I hit 5:55! It felt great to finish the workout like that! Cool down was quick, 1/2 mile easy (~ 4 minutes).

Easy run w/ Annie - did out and back on Granville Road. Annie thought she marked off a location that was ~3 or 3.25 miles out, so we would get in 6-7 miles...well, her measurement was off. Oops! We ran a bit far, but it was easy and felt great.

Easy run w/ Abby through Holyoke. We accidently went a bit longer than anticipated due to a blister that Abby got, which meant we doubled back to get to her house for a bandaid, plus a section of the reservoir was flooded, so we had to go around...anyway, it was an adventure run. Luckily, the pace was relaxed...Abby was feeling yesterday's 13 miler.
